About the estate
The Weingut Margaretenhof estate is a small family-run winery located in Osthofen in the heart of Rheinhessen, currently managed by the Ahl family in the fifth generation. Cultivating a vineyard area of slightly more than eight hectares, the producers tend to vines in sites such as Goldberg, Kirchberg, and Westhofener Brunnenhäuschen. The terroir is characterized by thick layers of loess as well as limestone marl, providing ideal conditions particularly for Pinot varieties and Riesling. Vinification is carried out traditionally, with white wines maturing on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks and red wines aged in wooden or barrique barrels.
