About the estate

The Kratz winery has its historical roots in the Schönauer Hof, which came to the Schönau Monastery near Heidelberg through a donation in the Middle Ages and is now run by the Kratz family. The estate cultivates vineyards in Osthofen in Rheinhessen featuring mineral-rich soils and benefits from generations of experience in winemaking. The family cultivates a variety of grape varieties to produce distinctive wines. The estate also owns the historic vineyard cottage Leckzapfen along the Rhine Terrace Trail, which serves as a venue for wine tastings.
