Weingut Kitzer

About the estate

The Weingut Kitzer estate is located on the western edge of Rheinhessen in the winegrowing community of Badenheim and is currently managed in the sixth generation by four winemakers from two generations. The winery cultivates various vineyard sites characterized by different soil types such as limestone, loess-loam, clay-marl, and porphyry rock. On these soils, the family estate grows numerous grape varieties including Riesling, Portugieser, Silvaner, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Saint Laurent. Work in selected vineyards, such as the old Portugieser plot, is carried out by hand to produce characteristic wines. The sustainable vinification and continuous development of the portfolio are based on the winemakers' sound professional training.
