About the estate
The traditional winery Weingut Jakob Schneider has been based in the wine village of Niederhausen on the Nahe since 1575 and has remained in family ownership ever since. Currently, three generations work together to cultivate 24 hectares of vineyards, with 85 percent planted with Riesling. The vineyards are characterized by a unique geological diversity featuring 52 different rock formations, primarily of volcanic origin alongside slate and river sediments. Among the well-known sites of the estate are the Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle, the Niederhäuser Klamm, and the Norheimer Dellchen. In the cellar, Jakob Schneider works closely with the individual challenges of each vintage to elaborate the characteristics of every single vineyard.
The estate sells to distributors.
