The traditional winery Weingut Gerharz-Hochthurn GbR is located on the outskirts of Gau-Algesheim in the Mainz Basin region of Rheinhessen. Ursula and Tilo run the estate together with their children, focusing on close-to-nature viticulture featuring permanent cover crops and the sowing of winter plants. The vines thrive at the foot of the Westerberg on various soils in sites such as the Gau-Algesheimer Steinert, Johannisberg, Goldberg, and Horrweiler Gewürzgärtchen. The portfolio includes grape varieties such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The family handles the entire process from own cultivation and vineyard management to vinification and bottling at the estate.
