About the estate

The Egon Schmitt winery was founded in 1978 by Inge and Egon Schmitt and is operated as a family business in Bad Dürkheim in the Palatinate region. Spanning 20 hectares of vineyards, the estate cultivates vines on diverse soil structures at the edge of the Palatinate Forest. The portfolio includes racy Rieslings, robust Burgundies, and fiery red wines that reflect the region's geological characteristics. The geographical conditions and microclimate shape the character and style of the wines. Distribution includes regular wine sales as well as tastings in the estate's own vinothek.
