About the estate
The Daniel Schmitt winery in Mettenheim, Rheinhessen, is run in the third generation. Following viticulture studies in Geisenheim and stays abroad, the winemaker took over the parental estate in 2009 and expanded the vineyard area to 18 hectares. The vineyards are located in the sites of the municipalities of Mettenheim and Bechtheim. The estate relies on manual labor, diligence and intuition in winemaking. The product range was realigned as part of a modernization process.
