About the estate
The family-run Braunewell estate is rooted in the traditional wine-growing community of Essenheim in Rheinhessen and looks back on a history dating back to 1655. Today, four generations work together to cultivate 28 hectares of vineyards, with notable sites including Teufelspfad, Blume, and Klopp. The soils consisting of limestone, lime marl, loess, and loam, combined with the cool climate in the north of the region, shape the character of the wines. Work in the vineyard and cellar is carried out sustainably and naturally to produce distinctive top-tier wines and sparkling wines. The portfolio features traditional grape varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay.
