About the estate

The Weingut Abthof - Inh. Martin Koch estate is located in Hahnheim in the Rheinhessen region and is run in the fourth generation by Martin Koch and his wife Alina. The couple took over the winery in 2023, while father Herbert Koch continues to work in the vineyards. The vines grow on calcareous marl soils in historical sites originally cultivated by Cistercian monks. Alongside classic varieties such as Riesling and various Pinots, a major focus is placed on fungus-resistant PIWI varieties and the historical rarity Gelber Orleans. The portfolio includes both still wines and vintage sparkling wines produced using the traditional method.
