About the estate
The Wein- and Gästehaus Spieß estate is run by the family in the fifth generation and looks back on a history dating back to 1893. Around Kirrweiler and Venningen, the estate cultivates vineyards on heavy loess and loam soils. The main grape varieties include Riesling, Pinot varieties, Dornfelder, and Portugieser. In the cellar, the focus is on gentle processing with temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, while selected premium Pinot Noir wines are aged in used barrique barrels. In addition to winemaking, the family runs a guesthouse at their home location.
