About the estate
The Vinhos Barbeito company was founded in 1946 by Mário Barbeito de Vasconcelos and has always been managed by members of the family. Following the founder's passing, his daughter took over the management, before a fundamental realignment in 1991 shifted the focus entirely back to quality wine production and the discontinuation of bulk wine trading with the entry of Ricardo Freitas. Today, the estate concentrates on crafting distinctive Madeira DOC wines in close collaboration with local vine growers. The winery exports its wines internationally.
The estate sells to importers and distributors. Export markets include Austria and Belgium.
