About the estate
The Blandy's winery in Funchal looks back on a long history in the production of Madeira DOC and is managed today by the sixth and seventh generations of the family. John Blandy established the business in 1811 after arriving on the island in 1808. The historical buildings of the Blandy's Wine Lodge provide ideal conditions for the ageing of the wines due to their unique structure. The family has played a decisive role in the development and export of this fortified wine, combining traditional heritage with modern management.
