About the estate

The winemaking tradition of the Villa Medici family estate in Sommacampagna dates back to the early 18th century, when an ancestor opened an osteria. In the 1950s, the family acquired the current country estate in Custoza, subsequently playing a key role in the development of the local white wine during the following decade. Today, the winery is managed by Luigi Caprara, with the support of his wife Paola and his daughter Silvia. The vineyards are situated on the gentle hills south of Lake Garda. In the cellar, the estate combines modern equipment with a climate-controlled barrique cellar for aging.

The eno directory lists 19 wines, mostly from Chardonnay and Gelber Muskateller. Export markets include Germany.
