About the estate

The organic winery Soc. Agricola La Chiusa di Giuffrida Margherita e Ientile has been located in Montevago in southwestern Sicily since 2011. Across ten hectares of vineyards situated on a calcarenitic plateau at an altitude of four hundred meters, the estate cultivates the grape varieties Catarratto, Grillo, Syrah, Nerello Mascalese, and Perricone. The soils are divided between southern calcarenitic sandy-clay fractions and northern medium-textured clay soils. The estate operates entirely without chemical substances, relying on a high degree of natural biodiversity and traditional vineyard management.
