About the estate

The Polgoon Vineyard estate is situated on a sunny hill in Penzance, Cornwall, overlooking the glistening sea of Mounts Bay. Purchased by John and Kim Coulson in 2002, the formerly derelict land was planted with 3,500 vines in the spring of 2004. The planted grape varieties include Rondo, Pinot Noir Précoce, Seyval Blanc, and Ortega. Alongside the vineyard, the operation includes an orchard, with cider forming a significant backbone of the business. The self-taught winemaker produces a growing range of precise and expressive still and sparkling wines characterised by a clean English fruit expression.

The eno directory lists 11 wines, mostly from Rondo and Sauvignon Blanc. The estate sells to horeca and retail.
