About the estate
The Pension Günther Scholtes winery, located in the wine-growing village of Leiwen in the Middle Moselle region, was founded in 1959 by Bernhard and Hildegard Scholtes. Since 1993, master winemaker Günther Scholtes has run the family-owned estate in the third generation, while his wife manages the guesthouse. The vineyards encompass around forty plots, with a primary focus on Riesling, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Noir. Notable sites of the estate include the Leiwener Laurentiuslay and the Leiwener Klostergarten. The artisanal production method combines traditional techniques with modern cellar technology to create characterful estate-bottled wines.
The eno directory lists 4 wines, mostly from Riesling and Pinot Blanc.
