About the estate
The Orkoli Winery was founded in Georgia in 2017 by two enthusiasts, Giorgi Gegelia and Bagrat Gakharia. Based in Mukhuri within the Samegrelo region, the estate focuses on cultivating rare western grape varieties such as Tsolikouri, Krakhuna, Otskhanuri Sapere, and Ojaleshi. For the vinification, the team combines traditional regional winemaking traditions utilizing qvevri vessels with classical European methods. Through this approach, the winery aims to unleash the full potential of these local varieties while preserving the heritage of Georgian winemaking.
