About the estate
The Mangiacane Winery has ancient roots dating back to the late 14th century, when the villa was built for the Machiavelli family and designed by Michelangelo. In 1646, the estate was sold to the Mazzei family before being acquired by the current owners in 2001 and thoroughly restored by 2007. The historic vineyards are situated in the hills of the Chianti region south of Florence. Today, the estate produces wines under the Chianti Classico DOCG, Chianti Classico DOP, and Toscana IGT denominations.
