About the estate
The Bodegas Lalanne estate was founded in Bordeaux in 1842 and relocated to Barbastro in Spain in 1894 due to the phylloxera crisis. At the Finca San Marcos, the founders planted high-quality grape varieties brought from Bordeaux, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, all grafted onto American rootstocks. These varieties are cultivated alongside traditional local grapes like Tempranillo and Macabeo. Today, the winery is managed in the sixth generation and continues to uphold the traditional winemaking methods of its ancestors. Historically, the family distributed their wines across northern Europe via their own ship.
