About the estate

The Lackner Tinnacher estate in Gamlitz in South Styria is one of the oldest wineries in the region and has been family-owned since 1770. The foundation for the distinctive wines was laid in the 1920s through the propagation of proprietary vine selections, whose old vines still thrive in the steep vineyards today. Since 2013, Katharina Tinnacher has led the winery with a focus on purely organic farming and traditional methods. All grapes originate from the estate's own vineyards and are cultivated and harvested entirely by hand. In the cellar, gentle pressing and 100 percent spontaneous fermentation are employed without fining agents or additives to produce characterful wines.

The eno directory lists 16 wines, mostly from Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The estate sells to horeca and retail. Export markets include Belgium, Germany, United Kingdom and Netherlands.
