About the estate

The Hoplita Historic Vineyards estate, located in Logroño in the La Rioja region, builds on a family winemaking heritage dating back to the late fifteenth century, with the current generation operating since 2004. The winery is situated within a historic sixteenth-century building that formerly belonged to the Count of Murillo and Bornos, featuring a cellar room that is over five centuries old. The family cultivates centenarian vineyards through parcel and micro-parcel management in the historic center of Logroño, led by winemaker and doctor in chemistry Elvira. The estate produces wines under the Rioja DOCa denomination and is recognized as a pioneer in modernizing the region's traditional sweet wine style.
