About the estate

The Gwaltl estate is managed in the second generation and cultivates a vineyard area of 8 hectares in Fehring within the Vulkanland Steiermark region. The hilly landscape is characterized by volcanic rock as well as loam, sand, and gravel soils, which serve as the foundation for the variety of grape varieties. The winery aims to work as naturally as possible in both the vineyard and the cellar, combining gentle methods with modern technology. During the harvest, the grapes are gathered by hand and selected directly in the vineyard. The portfolio includes wines from the Vulkanland Steiermark DAC denomination such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Welschriesling, alongside red wines and rosé.
