About the estate

The Gut Philippshof - Weingut Karl-Heinz Eckes estate is located in the 850-year-old wine village of Sommerloch in a side valley of the Nahe region. Two generations of the family work together in the business, carrying on the traditional heritage established by great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather Philipp Eckes. The vineyards in the rolling landscape are cultivated in an ecologically sensible manner using modern technology. The white grape variety spectrum is led by Riesling, along with Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Silvaner, Kerner, Scheurebe, and Bacchus. The red wine assortment is headed by Dornfelder, complemented by Pinot Noir, Regent, Blauer Portugieser, and Saint Laurent.
