About the estate
The Gut Kaltenburg estate was built in 1610 by Tyrolean chancellor Friedrich Altstetter near Lake Caldaro and subsequently changed ownership several times over the centuries. In 1965, Ignaz Brigl acquired the property, establishing a new family tradition that is currently managed by the third generation, Stefan Lochmann. Surrounded by its own vineyards and orchards within the Alto Adige DOC region, the winery focuses on viticulture as well as the production of grappa and fine spirits in an in-house exhibition distillery. Historic buildings in the Oltradige style characterize the appearance of this tradition-rich property.
