About the estate

The traditional Gerngross winery has been located in Sausal in the South Styria region since 1956. High up at 600 meters above sea level, the family cultivates steep vineyards with barren slate soils. This unique microclimate and the sites characterized by red and blue slate form the basis for origin-typical quality wines. The focus is on a taut, salty-mineral character. The portfolio includes organically produced wines such as Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc and Yellow Muskateller with the South Tyrol DAC designation.
