About the estate

The Dutch winery Eskerwijn is situated on a sloping terrain in the north of Twente near the German border. The estate was founded by Wouter Kleizen and Jorike Mekenkamp, who planted the first 7000 vines in May 2021 on a unique glacial ridge formation. In April 2022, another 5000 plants were added to the site, which features a well-draining soil rich in gravel and clay loam. The first harvest took place in the autumn of 2022, and the enterprise now produces a varied assortment of wines released under the Eskerwijn label.

The eno directory lists 14 wines, mostly from Chardonnay and Cabaret Noir. The estate sells to retail.
