About the estate
The Duca Di Salaparuta estate was founded in 1824 by Giuseppe Alliata, Prince of Villafranca and Duke of Salaparuta, in Casteldaccia when he began vinifying grapes from his own estates. Production was continued by subsequent generations of his family, including his son Edoardo and later Duca Enrico, who became known as a master of modern Italian enology. In 1984, the company worked with winemaker Franco Giacosa to produce the region's first single-varietal Nero d’Avola, leading to the creation of the acclaimed Duca Enrico wine. Today, the historic winery comprises multiple estates across Sicily and focuses on crafting distinctive wines such as Nero d’Avola, Pinot Noir, and Insolia.
The eno directory lists 8 wines, mostly from Nero d'Avola and Inzolia.
