About the estate
The Drescher Ökowein family estate is located in Sommerach, where six hectares of vineyards are cultivated across the Sommeracher Katzenkopf, Sommeracher Engelsberg, and Sommeracher Rosenberg sites. In 1998, Norbert Drescher took over the wine estate and, together with his wife Elisabeth, converted the cultivation to organic farming methods in the very same year. Since releasing its first estate-bottled vintage in 2001, the winery has marketed its own wines, with white varieties including Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Bacchus, Scheurebe, as well as the fungus-resistant varieties Johanniter and Cabernet Blanc. The red wine assortment comprises Pinot Noir, Domina, Dornfelder, Pinot Meunier, and the Regent variety. Since 2022, their son Jakob has represented the new generation joining the estate operations.
