About the estate
The Domeniul Catleya winery was founded in 2007 by four partners in Corcova within the Oltenia region, reviving the historic winemaking heritage of Prince Anton Bibescu. The vineyards are situated on clay-loam, iron-rich brown soils on slopes at the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains with a continental climate. Cultivated grape varieties include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and local varieties such as Fetească Neagră. The estate is in official conversion to organic farming and focuses on manual harvesting and meticulous, low-intervention vinification.
