Crama Corcova

About the estate

The Crama Corcova estate is located in the Oltenia region and looks back on a history of viticulture documented since the 16th century, which experienced its heyday under the noble Bibescu family in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The winery was established in its current form in 2005 and now encompasses 70 hectares of vineyards within the Mehedinți-Corcova and Mehedinți-Corcova DOC designations. The vineyards benefit from a temperate continental climate with Mediterranean influences and the mineral-rich soils of the Getic Piedmont. The estate cultivates traditional varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Fetească Neagră, Muscat Ottonel, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, alongside the Syrah variety. The historic cellars were completely renovated in 2009 with support from the European Union and equipped with modern machinery for processing.

The eno directory lists 26 wines, mostly from Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.
