About the estate

The Domeniile Samburesti estate is situated in a privileged location between the Getic hills and the Cotmeana hills, protected by the Carpathians and tempered by the Olt river. Historical documents mention wine production at this site dating back to 1638 under the rule of Theodosie Rudeanu. The modern history of the winery began in the early 20th century when Vintilă Brătianu replanted the vineyards with noble French grape varieties upon the recommendation of French oenologist August Joseph Ville. Today, the estate cultivates soils well-suited for red wines, focusing on Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The winery combines traditional methods with modern technologies such as advanced irrigation systems and weather stations.
