About the estate

The Domaine des Génaudières estate in Le Cellier is managed by the Athimon winemaking family and traces its history back to 1635. The vineyards are situated on a rocky spur on the slopes of the Loire with soils rich in schist and gneiss, enjoying a privileged southern to southwestern exposure. The winery produces white, rosé, and red wines under the AOC Coteaux d'Ancenis, AOC Gros Plant du Pays Nantais, and AOC Muscadet Coteaux de la Loire denominations. Farming is characterized by low yields, regular organic amendments, and pest management using sexual confusion along with copper and sulfur. The property has held the Haute Valeur Environnementale certification since 2014 and began its conversion to organic farming in 2020.
