About the estate
The Domaine de Monteillet estate has been run by winemakers for nine generations and overlooks the northern Rhône Valley from the edge of Mont Pilat. The vineyards are situated on steep terraced slopes established 2,000 years ago by the Romans, featuring soils composed of granite, schist, gneiss, and migmatite. This protected hillside location benefits from an optimal south-to-southeast exposure and cooling breezes that help preserve the aromatic purity of the grapes. The estate produces wines across five appellations, including AOC Condrieu and AOC Saint-Joseph. Harvesting is carried out exclusively by hand using small crates, followed by careful sorting of the berries both in the vineyard and at the winery.
The eno directory lists 9 wines, mostly from Viognier.
