About the estate
The Department 66 estate was founded in 2008 by Dave Phinney in the small town of Maury within the Roussillon wine region in the South of France. The vineyards encompass 40 acres of old vines situated on black schist soils and granite peaks in the Pyrenees mountains. Under the direction of proprietor and winemaker Dave Phinney, a small dedicated team farms the land and produces concentrated wines from Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan. The resulting wines showcase the distinctive terroir of Maury and the surrounding Agly Valley.
The eno directory lists 6 wines, mostly from Grenache and Syrah.
