About the estate

The Cisterzienser Weingut Michel GbR estate in Dittelsheim-Heßloch looks back on a long history that began in 1173 with the establishment of an estate by the Otterberg Cistercian monastery. Following the turmoil of the Reformation, the ancestors of the current owners took over management in 1645. Ulrich and Karen Michel currently run the winery in the eighth generation. The estate's wines are characterized by contrast, character, power, and refinement. Cultivation and distribution take place in the Palatinate and Rheinhessen regions.
