About the estate
The Chateau Saint Louis - Despagnet - l' Hermitage Mirande - Tresor de St Georges estate is located near Saint-Emilion on a clay-limestone hill in the Montagne-Saint-Emilion appellation, with a history tracing back to the Gallo-Roman era. In 1602, the property was sold by Henry IV to Jean Barbot and later redesigned in the eighteenth century by architect Victor Louis. Today, the winery farms forty-four hectares of contiguous vineyards, which were entirely replanted by Petrus Desbois following the phylloxera crisis. Jean-Philippe Janoueix joined the Desbois family in 2013 and has since become the principal owner. The traditional vineyard planting is dominated by Merlot, complemented by smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The eno directory lists 2 wines, mostly from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
