About the estate

Built in the 16th century, Château Lamothe Guignard is a classified second growth estate located in the Sauternes appellation. Brothers Philippe and Jacques Guignard acquired the major part of the property in 1981 and have managed the vineyards ever since. The estate spans 20 hectares across two distinct terroirs featuring gravelly as well as clay-gravel soils. The vineyards are planted with Sémillon, Sauvignon, and Muscadelle, benefiting from a microclimate that promotes noble rot. Harvesting is conducted manually in multiple selective passes, followed by traditional vinification and aging in oak barrels.

The eno directory lists one wine.
