The Château Ducru-Beaucaillou estate is located in the Saint-Julien appellation within the Médoc region and derives its name from the gravelly soils dating back to the Quaternary period. These sparse stony layers force the vines to root deeply and retain daytime heat, which is then released to the plants during the night. Furthermore, the property benefits from its immediate proximity to the Gironde estuary, whose tides and vast water masses moderate temperature extremes. These geographical and climatic conditions support the production of the estate's characteristic wines.
