About the estate
The Cantine Belmesseri estate in Tuscany was founded in 1997 by Giuseppe Balestra, who acquired a historic property featuring a mill and a winery. Today, sons Carlo Alberto and Edoardo support the business, while winemaker Alessio Macchia oversees the wine production. The estate covers approximately seven hectares, with two hectares of terraced vineyards situated along the banks of the Verde river at an altitude of 250 meters. These parcels cultivate indigenous grape varieties such as Durella, Albarola, Pollera, and Merlarola alongside international varieties. The microclimate of the Lunigiana area, characterized by significant temperature variations, shapes the distinctive profile of the agricultural products.
