About the estate
The Cantine Amico winery is situated on the slopes of Borgo Prestianni in the territory of Caltanissetta, Sicily. Founded in 1967, the family-run estate saw its first vineyard planted by Filippo Amico in 1970 with Nero d’Avola, Nero cappuccio, and Insolia. Today, the family manages an area of 25 hectares and vinifies exclusively estate-grown grapes. Harvesting is carried out rigorously by hand, while cultivation is performed using tractors by the owners themselves. The portfolio comprises five wine types, including Nero d’Avola DOP, Syrah IGP, Cabernet IGP, a Cabernet-Syrah blend, and Sangiovese IGP.
The eno directory lists 5 wines, mostly from Syrah and Nero d'Avola.
