About the estate

The history of Cantina Villamagna began in the 1960s when small farming operations in the medieval village of Villamagna in the province of Chieti, Abruzzo, cultivated grapes for family consumption. Later, a group of enthusiasts founded the estate to harness the potential of the strictly limited terroir spanning the municipalities of Villamagna, Vacri, and Bucchianico. Spanning 85 hectares of sandy-clay soils influenced by the Majella massif and the Adriatic Sea, the winery produces wines such as the Villamagna DOC. The vinification process relies on traditional methods featuring extended skin maceration to achieve optimal extraction of color and tannins. The portfolio also includes designations such as Abruzzo Pecorino DOC, Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC, and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC.
