About the estate

The Cantina Sociale Sannitica estate was founded in 1963 by twelve local farmers as a cooperative winery in Canosa Sannita, aiming to pool resources and transition away from table grapes. Over the subsequent decades, membership expanded significantly, accompanied by a shift toward dedicated winegrape varieties such as Trebbiano, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Merlot, and Chardonnay. Today, the winery cultivates its vineyards at the foot of the Majella mountains with a strong emphasis on environmental protection, sustainability, and a growing commitment to organic farming methods. The production features quality wines within the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC denomination. The operations remain firmly rooted in community collaboration among all participating growers to support the local economy and preserve the regional terroir.
