Bodegas Puelles

About the estate

The Bodegas Puelles estate is located in Ábalos in the Rioja region of Spain and is run by the Puelles siblings in the current generation. The family has deep roots in the area and acquired a historic property next to a 17th-century mill in 1844, which now serves as the winery headquarters. The vineyards thrive on clay-limestone soils at altitudes ranging from 450 to 630 meters, with Tempranillo being the most widely produced grape variety. The estate follows sustainable and organic farming practices without chemical fertilizers or herbicides. Harvesting is done entirely by hand to handle the grapes with care and preserve the quality of the fruit.
