About the estate

The Bodegas Juan Carlos Sancha estate was founded in 1997 in Baños de Río Tobía in Rioja. The winery farms 24 hectares of its own vineyards in the Alto Najerilla, situated on poor, shallow, and limestone soils at altitudes between 565 and 750 meters. Organic viticulture has been practiced from the very beginning with the aim of defending biodiversity and preserving old and minority grape varieties such as Garnacha, Maturana Tinta, Maturana Blanca, Tempranillo Blanco, and Monastel. The winemaking focuses on minimal intervention to faithfully reflect the terroir and the region. The portfolio is divided into wines from old Garnacha vineyards and the indigenous varieties released under the Ad Libitum range.
