About the estate
The Bodegas Irache estate in Ayegui looks back on a long history dating from the beginnings of the Benedictine monks in the tenth century to its formal establishment in 1891 under the name Vinicola Montejurra. Winemaking is closely tied to the tradition of the nearby monastery, whose architecture also influenced the barrel aging cellar built in the nineties with a capacity for ten thousand casks. In 2008, the company received the classification as DOP Vino de Pago Prado de Irache, becoming the first winery in Navarra with this status. Following a change in administration in 2018, the new management works to highlight the special qualities of the Tierras de Estella area through powerful and fresh wines. Production includes wines from the Navarra DO and Navarra – Tierra Estella denominations.
The eno directory lists 10 wines, mostly from Chardonnay and Tempranillo. Export markets include France and Portugal.
