About the estate

Bodegas Franco-Españolas was founded in 1890 in Logroño within the La Rioja region by the French winemaker Frederick d’Anglade Saurat alongside partners. The historic estate emerged during a period when the phylloxera crisis devastated French vineyards, establishing itself as one of the early major wineries of the Rioja DOCa denomination. The winery is widely known for its traditional icon wines, Diamante and Bordón. Today, the estate is managed by the third generation of the Eguizábal family, combining the character of the historic cellars with responsible and forward-looking practices.
