Bodegas de la Real Divisa in Ábalos in Rioja is among the oldest producing wineries in Europe, with a history dating back to at least the fourteenth century. The estate belongs to a family holding the title of Marqués de Legarda, which also serves as the name for their red wine. The limited quantities are produced exclusively from specially selected grapes originating from the winery's own vineyards in Rioja DOCa. Traditional methods observed over centuries are employed in the winemaking process to ensure consistent quality. Currently, eighty percent of the production is dedicated to the domestic market, while the remaining portion is exported to international destinations.
