About the estate
The BioWeingut Wagner estate is located in the hills of Rhenish Hesse at the foot of the Kloppberg and looks back on a history that includes the construction of the vaulted cellar in 1924. The family-run winery cultivates vineyards on heavy loess-loam soils, marl, and shell limestone in one of the driest and warmest regions in Germany. The diverse range of grape varieties includes Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The red wines are aged for at least one year in oak barrels in the historic vaulted cellar, while the white and rosé wines are vinified in stainless steel tanks. All vineyard and cellar work is carried out independently by the family with the help of seasonal workers.
The eno directory lists 49 wines, mostly from Pinot Noir and Sangiovese. The estate sells to retail.
