About the estate
The Betolaza winery located in Briones, Spain, looks back on a long family tradition in viticulture, which initially involved producing wine for other local producers. In 2000, the brand was established, followed in 2006 by the construction of a small family-run cellar. Cultivation takes place on small parcels with predominantly clay-limestone soils under the Atlantic-influenced climate of Rioja DOCa. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, accompanied by careful grape selection in the vineyard. The wines, made from Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano, and Mazuelo varieties, are aged in oak barrels.
