About the estate
The Battenfeld Spanier estate was founded in 1991 following an apprenticeship in winemaking and has practiced organic farming from the very beginning. The winery cultivates Rheinhessen terroirs including the Rheinterrasse, Zellertal, and Wonnegau regions. On soils rich in limestone and slate, the estate grows grape varieties such as Riesling and Pinot Noir. Since 2005, the organic approach has been completed by biodynamic practices. Furthermore, the winery is a member of associations such as VDP. Die Prädikatsweingüter.
